Aim
A dedicated contact lens/lens care education event which will increase interest and proactivity amongst the Optometry community in prescribing contact lenses.

Desired Outcome
Optometrists to consider and trial contact lenses on a greater proportion of their patient base. Delegates should leave the meeting with a renewed enthusiasm to fit contact lenses to expand their patients’ vision correction options and improve the commercial potential of their business.

Primary Target
Australian Optometrists who have a general interest in contact lenses but would not consider themselves contact lens specialists. There are concessions offered to recent graduates.

Tone
Practical, outcome orientation to improve fitting confidence and patient management. Positive contact messaging i.e. not exclusively focused on complications.

The Fireside Chat
The ‘Hot Topics in Optics’ session will discuss issues relating to contact lens practice management and professional affairs rather than technical aspects of contact lens wear.
